This is the year of revolution, when we should be pacifies, or, better still, maybe not. Let's end this modern apartheid, lets set fire to this inferno. WE've already tried to be Ghandi, Mandela, this time its Maringuela's blood and these souls will suffer when the crows fly, you'll think it's cool until you see the city cry cry

about

In 2013 I went to Brazil and set up a youth music collaboration between young people in Bristol (who I was working with as a music tutor) and young people in Rio, who I met out there.
I had the great fortune of meeting Daniel Lages, who worked as an engineer in a recording studio called Audio Rebel. He loved the idea of my project and gave me free recording time there. So, having met up with the amazing circus and drumming troupe (AfroReggae) as well as young rappers, guitarists etc, I then contacted my fellow youth music workers who liaised with their young people and got them to send over files to Rio. Rio young people would then overdub and send them back. So on and so forth until this album was made. I also made a few little films about the process.
